Developing Practice

Post-its PD7Senses Consulting uses various methodologies and approaches to facilitate and guide individuals, groups and organisations to achieve their outcomes. In addition to providing professional facilitation services, structured learning and support is available in a number of methodologies. Contact me to discuss courses in the following:

Transformational Practice Development

tPD is a process that focuses on understanding the social structures in which care and practice occur. It is concerned with empowering individuals and teams to understand their practice and to take action to make necessary changes (rather than being led by others) to bring about person-centred care. McCormack, Manley and Wilson, 2003.

Bringing person-centredness to life

an approach that involves treating each person as an individual protecting their dignity, respecting their rights and preferences and developing therapeutic relationships based on mutual trust and understanding. (Australian College of Nursing 2014)

Clinical Supervision

a process whereby staff are supported by a skilled facilitator to reflect on their practice, discuss issues and challenges with a group of colleagues, learn through the process and identify actions for improving their practice and overcoming challenges. (Adapted from Driscoll 2007 & Helen and Douglas House 2014)

Appreciative Inquiry

a process of analysis, decision-making and improvements to a service or organisation that builds on possibility, what’s working well, using positive psychology, storytelling and potential to leverage improvement. (Adapted from Steinbach 2005 & White 1996) Appreciative Inquiry explained
